This is the book that tells about the life Booker T. Washington. 

He helped so much 

He helped slaves be not property but their own person. 

This book tells the extraordinary story of the slave who helped 

Make all free. 

He was born as a slave but died as a free 

African American hero. 

This title indicated the way 

He rose from slavery not only himself but 

For all African Americans. 

Rising action

He was born into slavery in 1856 of Spring  

He didn’t know what age or where he was born. 

But he worked at a Plantation and his only memories  

Are the slave quarters and his cabin. 

The Plantation was in Virginia 

That is all they ever told. 

They didn’t teach me anything, but I had a urge 

To write and read. 

The problem is simple we do not deserve this, but it is the  

Way they see us, and we can’t do anything about it. 

I want to learn so bad, but they refuse to teach me.  

             Freedom is coming, and how I Feel 

It is finally time they have opened a both race school 

And the way in to work it board. 

The work payed off in Mrs. Viola Ruffner home 

They hired me and I was a janitor. 

My time has come I finally have a real job and get to learn 

And I get to be sort of free. 

I am the happiest I have been in my 

Entire miserably and horrible life. 

                                Climax 

I then became a teacher in my hometown in Virginia  

And I teach in a little community school. 

My students not only have learned agriculture but 

We have learned how to make our own buildings. 

I love my job and it is the best I have felt  

And I have helped make a lot of things in the city. 

I am at last feeling like a free man like 

All should feel like. 

               Honeymoon 

After all of this I am getting married with the most 

Beautiful women I have ever met. 

I am one of the luckiest and most free African American I know 

And now I go on vacation something I haven’t done in 19 years of  

My life. 

 But one thing I still don’t understand is that 

Why can’t we all be one and not be separated from the  

Color of our skin. 

                                Themes 

There are multiply themes of this book from Education to  

Helping others and the dignity of labor. 

The most important of all is the one that has to do with the title 

Fellowship between the races. 

This is so important because the book is about fighting slavery 

And a bunch of other things to get to 

Where you want to be in life. 

                              Opinion 

This book is amazing and really tells you what they had to go thought  

During slavery and even facing racism also. 

I would recommend this book if you are into learning about maybe your 

Ancestors and how people can keep fighting to 

Achieve their life goals. 

This is genuinely one of the most inspiring and well put 

Together books I have ever read. 

It made you feel for the characters and try to put yourself in their shoes.
